Dralthi IV - medium fighter
The Dralthi IV was a major redesign: Although keeping to the traditional “pancake” shape, it featured widened wings, expanding the pilot's field of view. This widening, however, made the Dralthi IV a larger target, —easier to hit from the front or back.
First seen in 2669, this ship model was produced for a number of years.
It was used in combat as early as 2671 (WC 4); and as late as 2681, when kilrathi pilots assisted the TCS Midway against the Nephilim (WCP).
Note 1:
Some have argued that the Prophecy Dralthi should have a Dralthi V designation, but I can't seem to find any solid references for the existence of any such thing as a Dralthi V; sounds like a red herring to me.
Note 2:
I'm aware that calling the Armada Dralthi “Dralthi IV” is a bit of a stretch; but I think it's a good stretch. Armada kind of overlaps WC3 in the timeline, so, if Armada's Dralthis did have different designations, what designation would that be? Dralthi III or Dralthi V? Neither would make much sense, them being contemporary to one another. And they look the same, so I say heck, they ARE the same.
