The Zulu class battleship was presumably a late model battleship in 2634 that was represented in the kilrathi force that attacks McAuliffe. In fact, although Gilkarg's plan was to send the carriers through the jump point first, in the end it seems they decided to send a battleship first, and it's a Zulu.

[Signals officer, Sargent Williams:] ”… Image is rough due to solar activity, but there is definitely a Kilrathi Zulu class battleship at jump point Alpha. Wait a minute, sir, a second ship is coming through now, looks like a carrier, sir.”
