Set in 2701, Wing Commander Arena features updated versions and variants of several fan-favorite ships from previous WC games. Purely a multiplayer experience (there is a single player mode, but it's just the player versus “bots” in multiplayer environments), WC Arena is designed as a light, quick and easy way to have some fun blasting opponents in Wing Commander ships. There is little story to be heard of, relying solely on the accompanying downloadable manual/in-game magazine “Star Soldier” and ship stats/info in menus to convey the backdrop.
