A bit of hard thinking might suggest that he's alive and resides in Palan, that his last name may be Lang, that the “spice” he trades in is NOT oregano; that he may have started a “food corporation” as a cover for his “spice” production, which corporation might be known as Rondell, that his brother's name is Damien; and that Rondell employs slave labor; –but this is all speculation. One way or another, he lost the artifact, probably to Lynch or one of his minions at Bronte… But this is speculation too; all we know is that the artifact ended up in New Detroit, was stolen from someone by Sandoval, that Tayla is sent there to meet you after Sandoval was shot by Regis, and that Lynch would prefer to have his Steltek map back, but seems to be comfortable enough with the idea of its being destroyed… In other words, he has a holo of it already.
